Eglinton is a village in Co. Londonderry lying about 5.5 miles east-north-east of the city of Derry/Londonderry. Formerly known as Muff, it lies within the Derry and Strabane District Council area.
The village is near the City of Derry Airport, which was once Royal Naval Air Station Eglinton in an area Co. Londonderry near Lough Foyle. Among the churches in the vicinity is St. Canice’s Church of Ireland, Faughanvale, with graves of 35 people who served in the Second World War.
