On 9th October 1941, Lieutenant J.R. Bainbridge photographed proceedings as the British Army unloaded cargo from the stricken S.S. Bereby. The vessel ran aground on Gunn's Island off the coast of Ballyhornan, Co. Down on 24th September 1941.
