Rifleman Andrew Fullerton of Gilford, Co. Down served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles as part of the British Expeditionary Force in 1940.

Rifleman Andrew Fullerton (7013832) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of Joseph Fullerton and Mary Fullerton of Loughrans, Gilford, Co. Down.

He died between 29th May 1940 and 4th June 1940 aged 21 years old. At this time, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles was part of a divisional rear-guard for the British Expeditionary Force’s retreat to Dunkirk.

Andrew Fullerton’s grave is in Section 1, Row AA, Grave 7 of Bleuet Farm Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium. His name is on the Gilford War Memorial, Gilford, Co. Down. His headstone in Belgium bears the inscription:

Thy will be done.
