Sick Berth Attendant Andrew McNutt served on HMS Tynedale during its time guarding convoys between Gibraltar and Algeria as part of Destroyer Division 59.

Sick Berth Attendant Andrew McNutt (D/MX 73225) served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. Born on 23rd January 1917, he was the son of David McNutt and Annie McNutt of Derry/Londonderry.

He died on 14th April 1943 aged 26 years old after going overboard from HMS Tynedale. The vessel had joined Destroyer Division 59 on 8th March 1943. Its role was guarding convoys between Gibraltar and Algeria in the Mediterranean.

Andrew McNutt has no known grave. His name is on Panel 83, Column 1 of the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Plymouth, Devon.
