Corporal Arthur Wild (4979007) served in 49th (West Riding) Regiment, Reconnaissance Corps, Royal Armoured Corps during the Second World War. Born on 23rd January 1918, he was the son of John Thomas Wild and Mary Susannah Wild (née Stables) of Clowne, Derbyshire, England.
Arthur married husband of Kathleen Kirkpatrick of Larne, Co. Antrim between 1939 and 1943. The couple settled in Wild’s hometown at New Barlborough, Clowne, Derbyshire, England. The Royal Armoured Corps Corporal died as a result of an accident on 31st August 1943 aged 25 years old at Clachy Bridge, Fintry, Stirling, Scotland.
Arthur Wild’s grave is in Grave 1877 of St. John the Baptist Churchyard, Clowne, Derbyshire, England. His headstone bears the inscription:
