Rifleman Charles Quinn of Co. Tyrone served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during fierce fighting in the withdrawal to Dunkirk during May 1940.

Rifleman Charles Quinn (7010989) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was born in Co. Tyrone.

Rifleman Quinn received the General Service Palestine Medal in 1940 for service there before the Second World War. He died on 29th May 1940 aged 30 years old. At the time, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles was part of the British Expeditionary Force rear-guard on the way to Dunkirk.

Charles Quinn’s grave is in Grave 104 of Hoogstade Churchyard, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
