Lance Corporal Christopher John Webster (T/87268) served in 531st Infantry Brigade Company, Royal Army Service Corps during the Second World War. He was the son of Thomas Webster, and husband of Emily Webster of Gilford, Co. Down.
Christopher John Webster died on 17th July 1944 aged 24 years old. His grave is in Section III, Row F, Grave 2 of Brouay War Cemetery, Normandy, France. His name is also on the Gilford War Memorial, Gilford, Co. Down. His headstone in France bears the inscription:
Sleep, dear husband, in God’s keeping. Your life for your country you nobly gave.
