Lieutenant Denis Harold Smallman (247203) served in 7th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment during the Second World War. He was the son of James Smallman and Mary Alice Smallman, and husband of Emelia Lavinia Millicent Smallman of Ballywalter, Co. Down.

Denis Harold Smallman died on 8th July 1944 aged 26 years old. His grave is in Row G, Grave 2 of Cambes-en-Plaine War Cemetery, Cambes, Normandy, France. His headstone bears the inscription:

At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember him. Mizpah.
