Able Seaman Francis Cassidy served in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. He was the husband of Ellen Jane Cassidy of 41 Upton Street, Belfast.
He died at Belfast City Hospital, Lisburn Road, Belfast on 12th May 1946 aged 40 years old. His last ship was MV Wellington Star built at Harland and Wolff Shipyard Ltd., Belfast.
Francis Cassidy’s grave is in Section A, Row QF, Grave 41 of Milltown Cemetery, Belfast. His headstone bears the inscription:
IHS Our Lady of Perpetual Succour intercede for him. RIP.
