Private Francis Dougan of Aghadowey, Co. Londonderry served in The Parachute Regiment during the Normandy Campaign of 1944.

Private Francis Duggan (6985293) served in 2/4th Battalion The South Lancashire Regiment and 13th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps during the Second World War. He was the son of Francis "Frank" Duggan and Margaret Duggan of Aghadowey, Co. Londonderry.

Francis Duggan died on 19th August 1944 aged 22 years old. His grave is in Row C, Grave 3 of Putot-en-Auge Churchyard, France. His headstone bears the inscription:
