Rifleman George Bradley (7014121) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of George Bradley and Susan Bradley of Belfast, and husband of Brigid Bradley of Tassagh, Co. Armagh.
He died on 9th July 1944 aged 23 years old. At the time, he was part of A Company, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles. The Battalion had landed on Sword Beach on D-Day, 6th June 1944 and spent the following month engaged in the Battle of Normandy.
George Bradley’s grave is in Section IV, Row A, Grave 7 of Ranville War Cemetery, Ranville, Normandy, France. His headstone bears the inscription:
In ever loving memory of my dear husband. His life was loved. His death was brave. RIP.
