Rifleman George Middleton (7011627) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of John Middleton and Annie Middleton of Belfast, and husband of Annie Middleton of Belfast.

He died on 29th May 1940 aged 28 years old. This period of the Second World War saw some of 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles‘ fiercest fighting. They made up part of the rearguard of the British Expeditionary Force during the retreat to Dunkirk, France.

George Middleton has no known grave. His name is on Column 129 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
