George Sterritt died in Germandy on 13th June 1943 aged 50 years old. His grave is in Section 11, Row D, Grave 10 of the 1939-1945 War Cemetery, Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany. His headstone bears the inscription:

Enfold him in thine arms, O Lord, and love him just for us.
