Petty Officer James Benson (D/223430) served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. He was the husband of Elizabeth Benson of Belfast.
James died of an undisclosed illness on Monday 25th September 1939 aged 53 years old. At the time, he was a Telegraphist at H.M.S. Drake in Plymouth, England.
James Benson’s grave is in Section Q, Grave 160 of Carnmoney Cemetery, Newtownabbey, Co. Antrim. His headstone bears the inscription:
