Able Seaman James Boyce Abbott of Westmoreland Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim served with the Royal Navy at HMS Stag in Port Said, Egypt.

Able Seaman James Boyce Abbott (C/JX 204408) served in the Royal Navy during World War Two. Born on 18th June 1918, he was the son of the late John Abbott and Mary Emily Abbott of 55 Westmoreland Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim.

Abbott served at the shore establishment HMS Stag in Port Said, Egypt. He died of wounds sustained in an accident on 27th February 1944 at First General Hospital, Port Said, Egypt. Records suggest the cause of death was a fractured skull and injuries to the brain and face.

James Boyce Abbott’s grave is in Section 3, Row A, Grave 4 of Moascar War Cemetery, Egypt.
