Captain James Gerard Cassidy MB (114828) served in the Royal Army Medical Corps during World War Two. He was the son of James Cassidy and Ellen Cassidy of Rathfriland, Co. Down.
He died on 10th March 1943 aged 28 years old while attached to Headquarter Battalion, 1st Parachute Brigade in Tunisia. He was Mentioned in Despatches during the Second World War.
James Gerard Cassidy’s grave is in Section 3, Row C, Grave 7 of Tabarka Ras Rajel War Cemetery, Tunisia. His headstone bears the inscription:
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on his soul. May he rest in peace. RIP.
