Rifleman James Hamilton (7011031) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was born in Belfast.
James died between 30th May 1940 and 2nd June 1940 aged 29 years old. During this time, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles was part of the British Expeditionary Force. The Battalion had endured fierce fighting during the Allied withdrawal to the French coast and was preparing to evacuate to the United Kingdom.
James Hamilton has no known grave. His name is on Panel 129 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
