On 10th February 1940, HMS Suffolk collided with SS Misram killing 8 crew members of the Royal Naval vessel including James Larmour of Warrenpoint, Co. Down.

Able Seaman James Larmour (P/SSX 14491) served in the Royal Navy during World War Two. Born on 15th September 1914, he was the son of John Larmour and Mary Larmour (née McAlpine) of Lodge View Terrace, Warrenpoint, Co. Down.

He died on 10th February 1940 aged 25 years old. He served on HMS Suffolk when it collided with SS Misram. At this time, HMS Suffolk operated in British waters.

James Larmour has no known grave. His name is on Panel 39, Column 1 of the Portsmouth Naval Memorial, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.
