Private James Wesley Trotter (7047440) served in the British Army during the Second World War. He was the son of James B. Trotter and Fanny J. Trotter of Grangemore, Co. Armagh.

He died on 7th July 1944 aged 20 years old. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records Trotter as serving in 5th Battalion The Parachute Regiment, Army Air Corps. This Battalion, however, did not see action in Normandy. Other histories imply that Trotter served in 1st Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles.
