Private John Thompson Patterson (7015245) served in the Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. Born on 24th October 1919, he was the eldest son of the late Samuel Todd Patterson and Anna Susan Elizabeth "Cissie" Patterson (née Hobson) of 74 Mount Street, Belfast.
John Thompson Patterson died on 18th July 1946 aged 27 years old. His last known address was 4 Sherwood Street, Belfast. His grave is in Section D4, Grave 636 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down where a funeral took place on 20th July 1946. His headstone bears the inscription:
