Rifleman Joseph Coyle of Co. Armagh fought as part of the British Expeditionary Force in France and Belgium in 1940 with 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles.

Rifleman Joseph Coyle (7012201) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of Joseph Coyle and Mary Coyle of Lislea, Co. Armagh.

He died on 15th May 1940 aged 26 years old. At this time, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles was part of the British Expeditionary Force. As part of the divisional rear-guard, they helped hold the city of Louvain.

Joseph Coyle has no known grave. His name is on Column 129 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
