Able Seaman Kenneth Norman Colyer of Purdysburn, Co. Down served at HMS President III training as a crew member for DEMS merchant ships on 1941.

Able Seaman Kenneth Norman Colyer (C/LD/X 5213) served in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve. Born on 28th November 1920, he was the son of Reginald Thomas Colyer and Kathleen Colyer of Purdysburn, Co. Down. Naval documents list his place of birth as South Gosforth, Newcastle, Northumberland.

Colyer served at HMS President III in Bristol, England. There, members of the Royal Navy trained as crews of Defensively Equipped Merchant Ships. He died on 23rd February 1941 aged 21 years old on SS Anglo-Peruvian.

Kenneth Norman Colyer has no known grave. His name is on Panel 50, Column 1 of the Chatham Naval Memorial, Chatham, Kent.
