Leading Stoker Robert Duff of Groomsport, Co. Down served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War seeing action on board H.M.S. Meteor.

Leading Stoker Robert Duff (D/KX94612) served in the Royal Navy during the Second World War. He was the only son of Robert Duff and Jeannie Duff of Belfast. He lived at 2 The Point, Groomsport, Co. Down.

Robert died at Ards District Hospital, Newtownards, Co. Down on 20th August 1946 aged 28 years old. While in the Royal Navy, he served on H.M.S. Meteor.

Robert Duff’s grave is in Section 5X, Grave 35 of Bangor Cemetery, Bangor, Co. Down. His headstone bears the inscription:

No morning dawns. No night returns. But we’ll remember thee.
