Lance Corporal Robert Kerr (24470) served in 6th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. This Battalion had the task of home defence in Northern Ireland in 1940.
Kerr lived at 155 Roden Street, Belfast, Co. Antrim. The 1939 and 1943 Belfast Street Directories shows a Miss J Kerr at the residence. An older brother Alexander Kerr died in World War One on 25th October 1918 at Ypres, Flanders, Belgium.
Robert died on 15th December 1940 aged 43 years old. His place of death was No. 24 British General Hospital, Campbell College, Belfast, Co. Antrim.
