Lance Corporal Robert Wilson of Canmore Street, Belfast was a well-known member of the Shankill Corps of the Salvation Army before the outbreak of the Second World War.

Lance Corporal Robert Wilson (7012163) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wilson of Canmore Street, Belfast.

Before the outbreak of the Second World War, Wilson was a well-known member of the Shankill Corps of the Salvation Army.

He died on 14th May 1940 aged 25 years old. At the time, 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles was in action at Louvain as the British Expeditionary Force began the withdrawal to Dunkirk.

Robert Wilson has no known grave. His name is on Column 129 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
