Rifleman Ross Dickson Turner of Belfast died in action with 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the final stages of the withdrawal to the French coast at Dunkirk in May 1940.

Rifleman Ross Dickson Turner (7013150) served in 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of William Turner and Bella Turner of Belfast.

He died between 29th May 1940 and 2nd June 1940 aged 20 years old. This period of the Second World War saw some of 2nd Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles‘ fiercest fighting. They made up part of the rearguard of the British Expeditionary Force during the retreat to Dunkirk, France.

Ross Dickson Turner has no known grave. His name is on Panel 129 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
