Sergeant Thomas Fisher Churchill (3247714) served in 9th Battalion Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) during the Second World War. He was the son of Harry Churchill and Jane Churchill of Burnside, Lanarkshire.
He died on 26th June 1944 aged 22 years old during the Battle of Normandy, which followed the D-Day Landings.
Thomas Fisher Churchill’s grave is in Section XXVII, Row B, Grave 2 of Bayeux War Cemetery, Bayeux, Normandy, France. His headstone bears the inscription:
Sleep on, dear son and take thy rest. They miss you most who loved you best.
