Warrant Officer Class II Thomas Gordon of Strabane, Co. Tyrone died during fighting between 6th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers and the enemy in the Pucciarelli Ridge area of Italy.

Warrant Officer Class II Thomas Gordon (7010877) was a Company Sergeant Major with 6th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of Robert Gordon and Mary Ann Gordon of Ballyboyland, Ballymoney, Co. Antrim, and the husband of Olive Gordon of 5 Eden Terrace, Strabane, Co. Tyrone.

Gordon enlisted in the Royal Ulster Rifles in 1928, serving with them until 1941 when he transferred to the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. Before the outbreak of the Second World War, he was a member of Dunaghy Loyal Orange Lodge and his local Royal Black Preceptory. He died on 23rd June 1944 aged 34 years old during fighting in the Pucciarelli Ridge area.

Thomas Gordon’s grave is in Section I, Row H, Grave 13 of Bolsena War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:
