Craftsman Wilfred Leitch (7046457) served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during the Second World War. Born on 17th May 1906, he was the son of Thomas Leitch and Mary Jane Leitch of Camlough, Co. Armagh.
In 1934, he married Annie Elizabeth Eileen Cleland of Newtownards, Co. Down. The couple had 5 young children.
Wilfred Leitch died at Waringfield Military Hospital, Moira, Co. Down on 29th June 1946 aged 40 years old. His grave is in Section 21, Grave 233 of Movilla Cemetery, Newtownards, Co. Down. His headstone bears the inscription:
Love’s last gift, remembrance. Sadly missed by his loving wife and five little children.
