Corporal William Harper (5253511) served in 2/6th Battalion South Staffordshire Regiment during the Second World War. He was the son of Harry Harper and Lucy Harper, and the husband of Irma Harper of Ballycastle, Co. Antrim.

William Harper died on 13th August 1944 aged 26 years old. His grave is in Section XXIII, Row C, Grave 3 of Bayeux War Cemetery, Bayeux, Normandy, France. His headstone bears the inscription:

To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die. With love and remembrance.
