Gunner William Kells (1490246) served in 4th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery during the Second World War. He was the son of Thomas William Kells and Jeanie Ethel Kells of Belfast, Co. Antrim, and the husband of Hilda Kells of Belfast, Co. Antrim.

William Kells died on 11th April 1945 aged 22 years old. His grave is in Section X, Row 21, Grave 8 of Brussels Town Cemetery, Brussels, Belgium. His headstone bears the inscription:
