Craftsman William Summerville (6405009) served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during the Second World War. He was the husband of Sarah Summerville of 38 Union Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh.

In October 1940, Private William Summerville had written a short note of gratitude to the Portadown News. He expressed thanks for a care package from the Portadown Central War Comforts Fund. He received a similar package in February 1941. William died at Armagh Hospital, Armagh, Co. Armagh on 7th May 1946 aged 50 years old.
