Private Patrick McCullagh of Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone served in 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry in France with the British Expeditionary Force in 1940.

Private Patrick McCullagh (4034223) served in 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry during the Second World War. He was the son of William McCullagh and Ellen McCullagh (née McAleer) of Upper Belix, Plumbridge, Co. Tyrone.

He died on 16th June 1940 aged 21 years old. By this stage of 1940, the British Expeditionary Force had taken part in the Dunkirk Evacuation. In May 1940, 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry had been part of 151st Infantry Brigade in France. Along with 8th Battalion Durham Light Infantry, they supported 4th Royal Tank Regiment and 7th Royal Tank Regiment in fighting to the west of Arras.

Patrick McCullagh has no known grave. His name is on Column 122 of the Dunkirk Memorial, Dunkirk, France.
