William Christopher Gibson died on 24th September 1944 aged 26 years old during Operation Market Garden. His grave is in Section I, Row C, Grave 1 of Valkenswaard War Cemetery, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands. His headstone bears the inscription:

Loving son of Catherine and the late Joseph Gibson. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul. RIP.
