Rifleman William Hood (7015364) served in 8th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles during World War Two. He was the son of William Hood and Martha Hood and the husband of Robina Hood of Belfast, Co. Antrim.
William died in Herefordshire on 10th March 1941 aged 30 years old. 8th Battalion was a hostilities only unit raised in 1940 to join 203rd Independent Infantry Brigade in the Second World War. In 1941, 8th Battalion Royal Ulster Rifles served with Home Forces in the United Kingdom.
William Hood’s grave is in Glenalina Extension, Section D1, Grave 196 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast, Co. Antrim.
